BIOGRAPHY
Andrew Alexander King is a technology leader, explorer, alpinist, big-wave surfer, endurance athlete, philanthropist, and social-impact advocate whose work sits at the intersection of human performance, technology, exploration, and purpose.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, Andrew became the first person in his family to attend college, earning an NCAA Division I track-and-field scholarship before building a career spanning technology, digital transformation, program leadership, and enterprise innovation.
With more than a decade in technology and as a founder of emerging frameworks and technologies, Andrew has led complex programs and portfolios across global organizations, working across digital transformation, product delivery, cloud infrastructure, analytics, emerging technology, and AI-enabled operations. His professional experience includes work with organizations and brands ranging from startups to major global enterprises.
Outside the corporate world, Andrew has built an equally unconventional career as an explorer.
He has climbed more than 50 mountains around the world, from Kilimanjaro to major objectives across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and the Himalayas. His long-term exploration project is to pursue the highest mountain and highest volcano on each continent.
Andrew is also a big-wave surfer who has trained and surfed in Mexico, Europe, Hawaii, and other major surf environments, as well as a certified freediver and developing endurance motorsport athlete.
These pursuits are not separate from his work in leadership and technology. They have become a living laboratory for understanding uncertainty, decision-making, preparation, risk, failure, adaptation, teamwork, systems thinking, and human performance.
Andrew is the founder of The Between Worlds Project and Ark Labs an initiative that uses exploration, storytelling, technology, and partnerships to support communities and organizations addressing barriers including economic inequality, technology, and environmental challenges,
His work and story have been featured across major media and outdoor platforms, and he has worked with global outdoor and lifestyle brands. He has also been recognized as one of the outdoor industry’s influential voices.
As a speaker, Andrew brings audiences inside environments where outcomes are uncertain from corporate transformation programs to mountains, oceans and other high-consequence environments—and translates those experiences into practical lessons about leadership, resilience, innovation, belonging and the decisions people make when there is no perfect information.
His central philosophy is simple:
Peace and progression over perfection.
