Bio:
Dr. Eugene Song is an Electronics Engineer of the Internet of Things (IoT) Devices and Infrastructures Group of Communications Technology Laboratory (CTL) at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland, USA.
His current research interests include IoT smart sensors/devices, interface standards for IoT smart sensors and sensor networks, IoT devices/sensors interoperability testing, modeling, measurement, and assessment methodologies, digital twins, edge computing and Artificial Intelligent (AI), cellular vehicle-to-everything (C-V2X) communication and interoperability testing and plug fest, and co-simulation for IoT applications at the NIST IoT Testbed. He is the Chair of the IEEE P1451.0 Standards Working Group, leading the development of an interface standard for smart sensors and actuators for sensor-based networks suitable for IoT applications.
Dr. Song has served as several invited speakers at notable conferences, webinars, and plug fests, including the 2023, 2024, and 2025 Sensors Converge, EE Times University Webinar, IECON Industrial Forum & Smart Sensor Interoperability Testing and Plug Fests, 2025 Omniair Florida V2X Plug Fest, and IEEE IoT Sensor Webinar and Workshops.
