Jonathan Tapson

Bio:

Dr. Jonathan Tapson is a successful academic and entrepreneur in electronics and AI research. He was a tenured professor at multiple universities, before becoming the Executive Director of the MARCS Institute of Brain, Behavior and Development in Western Sydney, Australia. He founded three successful technology companies as spin-outs from his research, and ultimately left academia to become the first CSO of GrAI Matter Labs, subsequently acquired by Snap, Inc. As a serial CTO, he has led several companies from idea to product launch. He has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Cape Town, and Bachelor’s degrees in Theoretical Physics and Electrical Engineering from the same University.
