Bio:

Kianoush Nazarpour is a Professor of Digital Health at the University of Edinburgh, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on enhancing physical movement across the lifespan through advanced digital technologies. His research spans AI-enabled wearables, human-machine interfaces, and digital health innovation. 
Alongside his academic work, Kia has significant experience in translational research and industry R&D. He is co-founder of Rebel Bionics, a company developing digitally enabled prosthetic limbs for children, and serves as Chief Strategy Officer at Neuranics, a spinout from the Universities of Edinburgh and Glasgow, where he is helping pioneer magnetic sensing solutions that achieve picoTesla sensitivity using Tunneling Magnetoresistance (TMR) technology. 
At Neuranics, Kia plays a strategic role in guiding the development of ultra-sensitive magnetic sensors, custom ASICs, and edge AI software for next-generation applications in wearables, XR, and digital health. He is passionate about turning breakthrough research into real-world tools that empower people and reshape human-machine interaction.
