Mike Nielsen
Robotics and Biometrics
Bio:
Mike Nielsen is the chief marketing officer at RealSense, focused on turning groundbreaking vision technologies into market-leading solutions, ensuring RealSense becomes the go-to platform for robotic perception and biometric security. He brings a strong background in product incubation and unlocking market potential, building sustainable revenue and driving digital and business transformation.
Nielsen’s career spans both engineering and marketing, giving him a unique ability to bridge the gap between technical innovation and go-to-market (GTM) execution.
Before joining RealSense, Nielsen held leadership roles at Intel, where he played a key role in incubating and launching new technologies. While senior director and entrepreneur-in-residence for Intel’s New Ventures group, he identified disruptive innovations, incubated more than 30 ventures and helped secure funding and spinouts in emerging areas like security and vision. Before that, he was instrumental in shaping Intel’s biometric authentication and depth-sensing technologies.
At Cisco, as VP of product marketing for security, Nielsen redefined the company’s marketing strategy, positioning security products for long-term growth through differentiation and aggressive market expansion. Later, as head of innovation for the digital platforms group, he built an internal startup incubator, drove $150 million in revenue and developed next-generation solutions in video, security and automation.
Beyond Cisco, Nielsen has consistently taken on growth-oriented leadership roles — from revamping GTM and solutions marketing at HP and Juniperto driving portfolio company growth as senior managing director at Dillon Kane Group.
His expertise in translating complex technologies into market-ready solutions has earned him industry recognition, including Cisco’s Best in Company Marketing Campaign award.
