Scott Cohen
Director of Special Projects
Bio:
Strategic. Decisive. Unapologetically driven to deliver outcomes.
I see systems where others see noise—and then I fix them.
For more than three decades, I’ve operated at the intersection of technology, operations, and innovation. From helping lead my family’s multi-division business in my twenties to developing sensor-driven RTLS platforms used by NASA, I’ve consistently taken on roles where the only path forward was through clarity, technical depth, and decisive execution.
Today, I serve as Director of Special Projects at ABG Tag and Traq, a company focused on real-time location systems (RTLS), ultra-wideband (UWB) sensing, and intelligent cloud-edge ecosystems. I work with federal and commercial partners to architect solutions that drive visibility, accountability, and safety across sectors like aerospace, defense, healthcare, and critical infrastructure.
Before ABG, I co-founded Parco Merged Media, an early pioneer in wideband-based RTLS platforms, where we tackled the problem of real-time asset tracking well before “RTLS” was a recognized market category. That work helped inform current-generation AllTraq UWB systems and dashboards in use today.
I’ve built and sold companies. I’ve launched healthcare businesses, advised AI/ML startups on probabilistic modeling, and mentored technical teams building real-world solutions that deliver under stress. I’ve also helped operationalize innovation in highly regulated spaces—from military medicine to medtech to NIST-compliant cybersecurity frameworks.
My current work involves multiple layers of complexity:
- AllTraq, our RTLS platform, combines ultra-wideband sensors with environmental monitors—tracking temperature, vibration, pressure, gases (including ammonia, nitrogen, and oxygen), flow, and power status, alongside duress and man-down alerts.
- These sensors feed into App.AllTraq, a cloud-based dashboard hosted in Azure, delivering both real-time and historical visibility, alert triggers, and zone-based logic.
- On the backend, we’ve built a developer-facing RTLS FastAPI platform, running on Linux/Ubuntu with Python, React, JS, and PostgreSQL. It supports full-stack integration via text, 2D/3D visualizations, and AI-based rules engines that operate both locally and via cloud APIs.
This architecture empowers partners in aerospace, defense, and manufacturing to deploy sensing systems that don’t just monitor the environment—they adapt to it. Whether it’s sensor fusion, portable trigger zones, or sub-second event mapping, AllTraq bridges the physical and digital in a way that’s scalable, auditable, and resilient.
My subject matter expertise spans:
- Ultra-Wideband (UWB) / RTLS / 5G+ integration
- LiDAR reality capture & dimensional metrology
- RFID and edge-to-cloud event systems
- NIST 800-181 / CMMC cybersecurity compliance
- AI/ML rule engines and intelligent sensing systems
Along the way, I’ve also worked the full technology stack: hardware integration, software development, API architecture, regulatory compliance, and deployment training. I’m not just passionate about innovation—I’ve lived it through invention, execution, and impact.
My patents, including US8851068B2 (personalization of vaporized compound delivery), have been cited in hundreds of subsequent innovations. That patent portfolio demonstrates a broader principle that I carry into every role: good ideas aren’t enough—execution matters.
I hold a degree in Finance and Statistics from The George Washington University, attended law school at the University of Maine, and have complemented my technical work with legal and business fluency across contracts, torts, regulatory interpretation, and negotiation.
As a trustee of the Gene R. Cohen Charitable Foundation, I support education, arts, and entrepreneurship through grants and scholarships—part of my commitment to building systems that outlast the individual and create lasting value.
