Optimal Counsel

Bio:

Ghalia Aamer is a Fellow at Optimal Counsel, a boutiqe law firm for elite technology founders. She is also the Founder of TalkMaze, an education company that helps students worldwide unlock confidence and communication skills through debate and public speaking. What began as her first entrepreneurial experiment at 13 years old has since grown into a global platform recognized by national and international leaders. Her early work was honored by the Prime Minister of Canada, and she went on to represent Canada at the G20 Young Entrepreneurs’ Alliance Summit in Saudi Arabia and Italy, where she was appointed one of three national policy leads and featured on national media outlets.

In addition to her entrepreneurial track record, Ghalia is pursuing a Juris Doctor at Columbia Law School and the Master of Computer and Information Technology at the University of Pennsylvania. This rare combination of legal and technical training positions her uniquely at the intersection of law, technology, and innovation. She brings an insider’s understanding of how artificial intelligence and emerging technologies are reshaping markets — and the legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks required to guide them responsibly.

Her work is grounded in both advocacy and application. As a law student, she has worked with organizations advancing domestic violence protections, access to justice, and startup law. As a technologist, she has studied the architecture of AI systems, data structures, and algorithms that underpin next-generation technologies. And as a founder, she has navigated the challenges of fundraising, scaling, and cross-sector collaboration. This multidisciplinary lens allows her to translate complex technical and legal issues into clear, actionable strategies for innovators, investors, policymakers, and communities.

Ghalia has delivered keynotes, workshops, and trainings for thousands of students, professionals, and leaders. She is passionate about helping startups anticipate regulatory risk, build trust with stakeholders, and design technologies that are both cutting-edge and ethically grounded. Her perspective emphasizes that innovation does not have to come at the cost of compliance — in fact, responsible design and transparent communication are essential to long-term success.

At Sensors Converge 2026, she brings her expertise in AI regulation, startup advising, and narrative strategy to help engineers, founders, and product leaders align innovation with responsibility. Attendees of her sessions will gain practical tools to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of AI liability, data privacy, and commercialization, while also learning how to tell compelling stories that resonate with regulators, investors, and the public.

Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Ghalia remains committed to equity, inclusion, and youth empowerment. She has launched nonprofit initiatives such as DreamSpeak to empower girls through public speaking, served as President of the Columbia Law and Entrepreneurship Society, and advocated internationally for inclusive entrepreneurship policies. Her mission across all fields is consistent: to use her voice, and to help others use theirs, in service of building more just, innovative, and thriving communities.
