Data center asset/equipment monitoring presents unique challenges for many reasons, not limited to installation challenges, cost structure, accuracy, and sustainability. Preventing failure of mission-critical equipment requires precise monitoring of extreme temperatures/humidity, and it’s often necessary to quickly locate tagged equipment on crowded server racks, made of metal. Powercast will present how we approached the problem and engineered a solution that can be a valuable resource for data centers. Actual deployment data will be presented and discussed.
