MAX40109, the Go-To AFE for Pressure Sensors

Session details:

The MAX40109 is an Analog Front End (AFE) for piezo-resistive pressure sensors. System designers decide which pressure sensor they want to use based on the accuracy, excitation, sensitivity, and size required for their design. Picking an AFE for a pressure sensor is less intuitive. The MAX40109 may be the one part that pulls your pressure sensor system design together through its key features that include different bridge excitation options, wide-range PGA options, analog zero-pressure offset compensation, and digital interfaces such as I2C and 1-wire. We will discuss how a specific pressure sensor is applied to the inputs of the MAX40109 and analyze if the MAX40109 meets the requirements of the system.

Additionally, the MAX40109 integrates a DSP engine for generating calibrated and linearized output without requiring an additional processor. To reduce development effort, ADI has designed a calibration tool chain solution that includes a calibration cabinet, board(s), and GUI that streamlines the customer design efforts. This smart solution reduces calibration time by automating the calibration coefficient computation and burning them into the MAX40109’s multi-programmable (MTP) memory. Each cabinet supports a total of 384 sensors.
